Shabako was born in the parish of Kingston and resided in the old capital of Spanish town. Music is apart of the family as his favorite uncle was passionate about the art so much to have created his own sound system popularly known as "Warr Paxx International". The young shabako would sing along with the diverse genre of music played by his uncle. Music gradually became his first love throughout his early childhood days. Freestyling lyrics for friends alongside his younger brother brought them both to the realization that this was ordained for them. Later, he was given the name “KRITICAL” for his hard-hitting dancehall lyrics. The artist later changed his name to SHABAKO as he evolved into a more positive, conscious individual whose lyrics spoke now to that of life and nature itself.
